Things to Do in Harrison Hot Springs

Harrison Lake is the largest in the Lower Mainland. It’s a hub for swimming, boating, paddleboarding, and beachside relaxation in the warmer months. Families enjoy the kid-friendly wading area, lakeside playground and the inflatable Harrison Water Park.

Beyond the waterfront, visitors can explore scenic hiking trails, play a round at the local golf course, or take in the region’s unique culture at the Sasquatch Museum. Kilby Historic Site in nearby Harrison Mills offers a glimpse into rural life in BC’s past. Meanwhile, Sasquatch Mountain provides winter skiing and snowboarding opportunities.

Harrison Festivals and Events

Harrison Hot Springs is also known for its vibrant festival scene. Annual celebrations include cultural gatherings, arts-themed festivals, live music by the lake, and seasonal light displays. The events highlight the area’s natural beauty and rich Indigenous heritage.

In winter, from late November until mid-January, there is Lights by the Lake. It features charming winter-themed decorations and an outdoor skating rink. On the opening night there are also family-friendly activities, live entertainment and fireworks. Between then and Christmas, there are also a couple of Festive Nights.

Other events at other times of the year include the following:

  • Harrison Tulip Festival – a massive, world-famous tulip festival in nearby Agassiz in the spring.
  • Sasquatch Days – an Indigenous event in June with war canoe races.
  • Canada Day – a parade, family-friendly activities and fireworks on July 1st.
  • Harrison Festival of the Arts – a week and two weekends of live music and art in July.
  • Harrison Dragon Boat Festival – a day of boat races and market vendors at the waterfront in July.
  • Bands on the Beach – a day of free live music on the Labour Day Long Weekend at the beginning of September.
