Seasonal Events & Activities
Taves Family Farms hosts special seasonal events throughout the year, including:
- Easterfest in spring with egg hunts, hayrides, and adorable bunnies.
- Apple picking in late summer and early fall.
- Pumpkin Patch and fall festival fun from late September through October.
The farm is open daily from late summer through fall, and most activities are included with a day pass or season pass (although a few things do cost extra). Visiting on weekdays often offers discounted rates.

What to do at Taves family Farms & Applebarn
Whether you’re visiting for a quick family outing or spending the whole day, there’s plenty to enjoy, including in the orchard, animal barn area, the cidery and country store, not to mention the children’s play areas.
U-Pick Fruit & Produce
Pick your own goji berries in late spring, apples in late summer and autumn, and pumpkins throughout the fall season. Apples and goji berries are typically sold by the bag while pumpkins are priced by size and variety.
Petting Zoo & Bunny Town
Kids will love visiting the Petting Barn and Bunny Town, home to friendly farm animals like goats, sheep, chickens, alpacas, turkeys and (of course) bunnies. Animal feed is available for purchase.
Taves Estate Cidery
Adults can unwind at the Taves Estate Cidery, which crafts small-batch apple cider using apples grown right on the farm. Enjoy your drink in the adults-only patio area, complete with relaxing farm views and a nearby goat pen.
Country Store
Visit the Country Store for fresh local produce, homemade preserves, baked goods, cold-pressed juices and more. Many of the items are made right on the farm.
A unique feature is the Bee Hive Viewing Window, where guests can watch bees hard at work making honey.
Kids Activities at Taves Applebarn
Taves Applebarn offers a wide range of exciting, hands-on activities that are perfect for children of all ages. Young visitors can enjoy riding pedal karts, bouncing on the giant jumping pillow, climbing and sliding on various play structures, taking scenic hayrides around the farm, and soaring through the air on the zipline. The farm is also home to a charming petting zoo where kids can meet and interact with cute bunnies and other farm animals.
On weekends, the Applebarn features additional attractions that are only available during those days. These include sometimes pony rides for children who weigh under 85 pounds, as well as fun seasonal experiences like the pumpkin cannon and corn gun. Visitors can also enjoy freshly roasted corn and potatoes, and grab a treat or refreshment at the concession stand.
