A Long-Running Rodeo Tradition
The Cloverdale Rodeo has been entertaining crowds for generations and remains one of Western Canada’s premier rodeo competitions. Skilled cowboys and cowgirls compete in classic rodeo events, drawing thousands of spectators eager to watch the action inside the arena.
Events typically include crowd favourites such as bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, and other fast-paced competitions. Rodeo clowns and entertainers also help keep the crowd engaged between events, making the show enjoyable even for first-time visitors.
A popular highlight for families is mutton busting, where young children attempt to ride sheep in a lighthearted competition. Safety equipment and advanced registration are required, making it a fun and carefully managed activity for participants.
The Country Fair Experience
Even for visitors who aren’t rodeo fans, the Country Fair portion of the event offers plenty to enjoy. The fairgrounds transform into a lively festival atmosphere with activities and attractions for all ages.
Visitors can explore:
- A large midway featuring carnival rides and games
- Agricultural exhibits showcasing farm animals and rural life
- Lumberjack demonstrations and outdoor competitions
- Food vendors and festival favourites, including barbecue and fair treats
- Interactive family zones and community displays
The Agri Zone is especially popular with families, giving children the chance to see animals such as horses, sheep, alpacas, and other farm favourites up close.

Live Entertainment and Performances
Music and live performances are an important part of the Cloverdale Country Fair experience. Multiple stages across the grounds feature concerts, cultural performances, and family-friendly shows throughout the event.
From country music and local performers to specialty acts and demonstrations, there is almost always something happening somewhere on site, making it easy to spend an entire day enjoying entertainment between rodeo events and midway rides.
Cloverdale Rodeo Parade
The festivities also include a community parade through Cloverdale, featuring decorated floats, marching bands, horseback riders, dance groups, and vintage vehicles. The parade celebrates Western heritage and community spirit while drawing large crowds along the route each year.
It’s a festive way to kick off the celebrations and a tradition many families return to annually.
