Royal Canadian International Circus in Metro Vancouver

The Royal Canadian International Circus is a popular touring spectacle that regularly visits Metro Vancouver in the spring. The show delivers high-energy performances under a classic Big Top tent. Known for its international talent, the circus’ shows are a favourite for families and audiences of all ages.

The Royal Canadian International Circus usually sets up for shows in May in Richmond, Surrey and sometimes Tsawwassen. Last year it was at Guildford Town Centre and Lansdowne Centre. It’s back in 2026, but only in Richmond from May 7th to 10th (so for a shorter stay than usual). This means tickets will likely sell out extra fast, so get yours while you can!

A Modern Take on a Classic Circus

The Royal Canadian International Circus blends traditional big-top excitement with contemporary performances. Instead of animal acts, the focus is entirely on human skill, athleticism and creativity, making it an ethical and engaging experience. Performers from around the world come together to create a fast-paced show filled with jaw-dropping stunts and visual spectacle.

What Makes the Show Special

Visitors can expect a wide variety of  acts throughout the performance. Highlights often include the following:

  • High-flying trapeze routines
  • Daring aerial performances
  • Precision balancing acts
  • Energetic trampoline segments
  • Comedy and crowd-pleasing moments
  • Extreme motorcycle stunts inside a steel globe

Each performance is led by an experienced ringmaster who keeps the energy high and the show moving smoothly from act to act.

Family-Friendly Entertainment

The Royal Canadian International Circus is designed with families in mind. The show is lively, colourful, and easy to follow, making it enjoyable for children while still impressive for adults. With its welcoming atmosphere and exciting visuals, it’s a great introduction to live circus entertainment for younger audiences.

Touring Across the Lower Mainland

When in the region, the circus typically sets up its Big Top at large shopping centres in cities such as Surrey and Richmond, making it easily accessible from across the Lower Mainland. The tent itself adds to the experience, offering an authentic circus setting that enhances the excitement.
