People at Fort Langley

Where is Fort Langley?

Fort Langley is the name of both the Village of Fort Langley and the historic site of Fort Langley. The village is in the northern part of the Township of Langley which is a municipality in Metro Vancouver. Located at 23433 Mavis Avenue, the historic site is in the northwest corner of the village, about three or so blocks from Glover Road, which is the village’s main street. Fort Langley the village, meanwhile, is about a 40-minute drive from downtown Vancouver in good traffic.

There is free onsite parking at the attraction. You just need to register your vehicle at the front desk.

What to See and Do at Fort Langley

At the historic site, visitors can explore reconstructed buildings including a blacksmith shop, cooperage and historic residences. There is also an original storehouse.

Throughout the year, the fort hosts demonstrations such as barrel-making, blacksmithing and fur trading displays. The site also houses museum-quality artifacts and offers opportunities to interact with staff dressed in period attire.

In the busy summer season and on special holiday weekends, expect even more activities, including historical reenactments and hands-on experiences for all ages.

When to Visit Fort Langley

The site is open nearly year-round, closing only on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. While Fort Langley is definitely worth visiting at any time, the summer months and long weekends between and August offer some of the most engaging experiences with extra events and activities. We highly recommend visiting the fort anytime, but especially on days with special events.
